Astro photography

I need a camera. I want to capture the colours of the universe which the eye cannot see due to the inadequacies of our eyes to see faint light. I am currently looking at buying a Nikon D3300 and removing the infrared cut filter from the internal CCD sensor.

Update, August 11th 2015: I bought this exact modle of camera for my birthday using amazon gift cards given to me by the love of my life Eliane and her brother Ben.
